Great Lakes
The Great Lakes Aircraft Corporation was established at Cleveland, Ohio in 1928, and was soon producing a very popular series of sport biplanes. Great Lakes also received a US Navy contract for dive bombers, delivered from 1933 onwards. With the onset of the great depression, the Great Lakes Aircraft Company went out of business closing their doors in 1936. Some Great Lakes designs have been revived, and built by various companies and home builders.
