Cirrus Design Corp.
The Cirrus Aircraft Corporation of Duluth, Minnesota, was founded in 1984 by Alan and Dale Klapmeier to produce the VK-30 kit aircraft. The company markets several versions of its two SR model certificated designs. Other light aircraft are under development. In February 2011, Cirrus was sold to China Aviation Industry General Aircraft (CAIGA), a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation, which is wholly owned by the Government of the People’s Republic of China.
