In 1992, the Atlas Aircraft Corporation was absorbed into the Denel Group, becoming Denel Aviation, a division of Denel (Pty) Ltd. It continued to serve the South African Air Force (SAAF) in manufacturing and subsystems. Denel Aviation is now primarily focused on the maintenance, repair and overhaul of both rotary and fixed wing aircraft and associated components in support of the SAAF, its primary customer.
