V-22 Osprey at Royal international Air Tattoo 2006.

Ed: The V-22 Osprey is a multi-mission military aircraft with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capability. It first took flight in 1989.
It usually takes of vertically and once airborne it will tilt its rotors 90 degrees to resume normal flight.

It is a remarkable picture, the V-22. It makes me wonder whether it actually is useful; it is faster in normal flight than a helicopter but is that the only benefit?
