RCAF H-44 chopper at Liverpool, Nova Scotia

Royal Canadian Air Force CH-44 Taken in baseball park at Liverpool, Nova Scotia in 1966. Note the flotation bags on the landing gear. This helicopter was used by 103 Search & Rescue Squadron. Aircraft # 9592.

Comments:
This R.C.A.F. CH-127 (Vertol H-44A) originally served with the U.S.A.F. (s/n 60-5446). It was acquired by the R.C.A.F. on the 11th of May, 1960. The helicopter served at R.C.A.F. Station Trenton, Ontario's No. 4 O.T.U. prior to being transferred to No. 103 Rescue Unit at R.C.A.F. Station Greenwood, Nova Scotia on the 8th of May, 1961. It remained there until being transferred to Air Defence Command and flown to R.C.A.F. Station Chatham, New Brunswick on the 20th of October 1964. From there it went to A.M.D.U.'s detachment at Mountainview, Ontario on the 22nd of November 1971 for disposal. It was subsequently purchased by Nahanni Helicopters in Delta, British Columbia and registered as CF-BSG.
