Planes and Choppers
READY TO PUSH BACK
How things have changed in the intervening years at Manchester. It is almost a rural scene in this photo from July 1974. The brickworks was still working away in the distance where the second runway was constructed and aircraft still belched smoke when they took off, as the departing British Airways 1-11 proves. British Caledonian Boeing B.707-373C G-AYSI is almost ready to push back and get a charter flight to Canada underway and a Belgian Learjet 00-LFA, which was a regular visitor in the 70's, is parked in the background.
