Child Flight Dauphin N2 helicopter (Lola Douglas) seen here at the Canberra Hospital helipad, Australia. Child Flight provides medical treatment and retrieval to all children in NSW & the ACT that don’t have access to the services of a specialist hospital. It was the first emergency helicopter service in the world totally dedicated to the retrieval of critically ill and injured children and infants.

• 2 X 763 shaft horse power (SHP) engines
• Flying range of 540 nautical miles (or 1,000kms)
• Maximum cruising speed of 165 knots or 325 kilometres per hour
• Fast cruise speed of 150 knots or 305 kilometres per hour
• Normal cruise speed of 140 knots or 285 kilometres per hour
• Maximum take-off weight of 4250kgs.
• On average burns 340 litres of fuel per hour
• Endurance of 3.5 hrs including reserves
• Can carry 2 neonatal ICU's plus 4 medical crew or 2 stretchers and 4 medical crew plus pilots.
• The helicopter has complete instrumentation for all weather instrument flight including night satellite navigation systems for hospital based instrument approaches, besides the normal airport instrument approaches.
