Seen here landing on her ship, the Tribal Class frigate HMS Nubian (F131) in November 1969. This picture was taken off Bahrain, when as an RAF Senior Technician I was invited aboard to observe naval exercises. I have been unable to find the serial number of this helicopter, which appears to be something like XT623.
The Wasp HAS Mk.1 entered service in October 1963, and first production machines were allocated to No.829 Squadron and deployed singly aboard the Royal Navy's seven Tribal class and seven Leander class frigates.
