Comments:
Although the Tummelisa was designed in 1917-1918, the first batch did not fly until 1921. In all, 31 were built, of which 3 were assembled in 1933 from spare parts. One of them was fitted with a machine gun, but they were classified as fighter trainers. The last original Tummelisa to fly (in 1962) is now in the Swedish Air Force Museum at Linköping. Span: 25 ft 7 in, Length 17 ft 11 in, Max. weight 1,180 lb, Max. speed 92 mph, Ceiling 18,000 ft, Engine 90 hp Thulin A rotary. This replica Tummelisa first flew on January 30, 1989.
