Non-Touristy Things to do in Bali

July 24, 2020 by Alexa Leave a Comment

The island of Bali is home to just over 4 million people. Annually it hosts over 5 million tourists. This makes the island of Bali one of the most famous, and popular tourist destinations in the whole of Asia. It’s not hard to see why, as well. The island is home to stunning nature, volcanic landscapes, white sand beaches, and a wild nightlife.

However, many people who travel to Bali each year complain that the only downside to Bali, is simply, the other tourists. Many of the beaches, restaurants, and popular destinations are so packed with international visitors that it can be extremely difficult to have a relaxing, and low-key holiday getaway. Luckily, for travelers who want to experience the rich wildlife and exotic nature on the island of Bali, without all the crowds, there are still plenty of spots to get away and relax. Here are just a few non-touristy things to do in Bali in 2019.

If you want to travel to Bali soon, check out these cheap flights from Singapore to Bali today.

  • Padangbai

Padangbai is a small village in the east of Bali. It is primary known as a stopping point between much larger destinations in Indonesia. However, this small and quiet little village is home to many breathtaking sights that any adventurer will find fulfilling. The village of Padangbai has white sand beaches, charming and welcoming locals, and a wide range of accommodations for passing visitors. You will definitely find yourself free from the large crowds here in this quiet coastal village.

  • Hiking in Munduk

The mountain village of Munduk is a hidden gem in the mountains of Bali. In the village of Munduk you will have the chance to embark on some exciting, and one of a kind hiking tours that will feature the stunning Bedugul Caldera ridge, as well as sprawling rice patties, and lake Tamblingan. If you want to get away from the beaches and spend some time in the deeply forested mountains of Bali, Munduk is the perfect spot for you.

  • Enjoy a Hot Spring

Bali is famous for its therapeutic, and medicinal hot springs. Locals will relax, and let their spirits and minds unwind in the soothingly hot waters of hot springs all over the island. One of the most wonderful of these hot springs, is Banjar. This hot spring will leave you feeling like you have traveled back in time. The rich, and ancient stonework, and natural hot waters will relax your body, mind, and spirit within minutes. The only sounds you will hear in this place are the sounds of pure nature. Banjar is located on the northern coast of Bali, near Lovina beach. This means it is just close enough to the city to keep you excited, and far enough away to be separated completely from the tourists.

Conclusion

There is a lot more to the island of Bali than just nightclubs, overpopulated cities, and tourist resorts. For those who aren’t afraid to venture out into the smaller crevasses of the island, you can find wonderful villages, beaches, and hiking trails that will take your breath away, and keep you out of the crowds. Many of them aren’t too far from the cities at all. So, if you are planning a holiday in Bali, keep in mind that there is more to the Island than just the cities. Much, much more.
